Over the years, I began to notice a pattern, both in the people I coached and in the lives of many high achievers around me. Often, the hardest transitions did not begin with dramatic crisis. They began more slowly. A sense of moving through life efficiently, responsibly, even successfully, while feeling less and less connected to what truly mattered.
That is the experience I came to call the Autopilot Drift.
It is what happens when habits, expectations, roles, and old definitions of success keep steering our lives long after something deeper has changed. It does not mean you have failed. It means you may be ready to pause, listen more closely, and choose with greater intention.
This work also became the foundation for my book, What Now? From Autopilot to a Life You Choose, and for the tools and reflections you will find throughout this site. My hope is to offer language, insight, and practical guidance for people who want to live with more clarity and alignment without needing to burn everything down.

Hi, I’m Yaprak Sapanli Gorur.
I created Autopilot Drift for thoughtful, capable people who have built meaningful lives and careers, yet quietly sense that something no longer fits.
From the outside, life may still look successful. But inside, there can be a growing disconnect between what once made sense and what feels true now. I know how common that experience is, and how difficult it can be to name.
For more than two decades, I worked in global human resources and leadership development, including senior leadership roles at 3M. My career began in Turkey and expanded across Europe and the United States, ultimately leading to a global HR role supporting one of 3M’s largest businesses. Along the way, I worked closely with leaders across functions, cultures, and stages of growth, helping them navigate complexity, change, and reinvention.
In 2020, I founded YSG & Associates Coaching & Consultancy to support executives, leaders, and professionals at important turning points in their lives and careers. Since then, I have coached clients from organizations including Accenture, AT&T, Bayer, Biogen, BP, Capital One, Coupa, Facebook, H&R Block, ServiceNow, WarnerMedia, and public sector institutions. I am an ICF PCC-certified executive coach, and my work brings together practical structure, deep reflection, and honest conversation.
